Innovation Summer Camp

Ready for 21st Century Learning?  Ready for fun?  Participate in Innovation Academy – a Destination Imagination summer camp offering.  In this program you will challenge yourself through creative challenges that are Engineering/Scientific and Creative & Performing Arts/Improvisational based.  This is an all new first time summer camp offering in the UAE.

In this first of its kind program in the UAE student ages 7-14 will be challenged through creative challenges that are Engineering/Scientific and Creative & Performing Arts/Improvisational based.  This program focus on 21st Century Learning skills:

  • Creativity & Innovation
  • Critical Thinking
  • Collaboration & Teamwork
  • Communication

Students will be placed onto teams of about 6 participants and will focus on one of two Challenge areas according to their interest:  Engineering/Scientific or Creative & Performing Arts/Improvisational.  The skills learned through this program will be life-transformational, will aid your son or daughter to awaken their creativity and intellect, and prepare them for success in this smart generation 21st Century.  Students will utilize Destination Imagination curriculum which over 150,000 students in over 30 countries participate in.  Compass International who will conduct this program is the exclusive Affiliate for Destination Imagination in the UAE.

The other aspect of the program will be Instant Challenges or IC’s for short.  These IC’s will be both Engineering/Structural and Performing Arts Challenge based throughout the week.  The IC’s are designed to challenge the participants in their quick decision making and teamwork skills.  The central theme of the IC’s will be space focused with curriculum and challenges from NASA!  Compass International is the official Regional Partner of the NASA/U.S. Space & Rocket Center visitor center in the USA and these challenges have been designed by NASA staff just for this program.

Instructors for this program will come not only from the UAE but also internationally – North America and Europe.  Special guest speakers will come from NASA in the USA.

  • Daily Sunday to Thursday
  • Program begins at 10:00am
  • Program ends at 4:00pm


  • 7-14 years old
  • Participants will be grouped into small teams according to their age; generally no more than two years in range

10:00 – Form teams
10:15 – What is 21st Century Skill Learning?
10:30 – Instant Challenge – Engineering/structural
11:15 – Snack break
11:30 – Introduction of the weekly Challenge – Engineering/Scientific or Arts/Improvisational
12:00 – Engineering/Scientific Challenge
12:30 – Lunch
1:00 – Instant Challenge – Performing Arts Challenge
1:45 – Arts/Improvisational Challenge
2:15 – Snack break
2:30 – Group work on the weekly Challenge
3:45 – End of day review; prepare for dismissal
4:00 – Dismissal – parent pick-up at the Lapita Hotel Ballroom or depart on STS busses
